At the Mountains of Random

We’ve been trying to eat more organic lately, to lesson the amount of chemicals consumed and to maybe lose some weight. Pasture-raised meats and byproducts, specifically, without the growth hormones. And we’re pretty much stopped heating up anything in plastic and using some kinds of plastics entirely. Does this mean I’m turning into a hippy?

Arkham Polytech – The strips for the week after next are inked… here’s a preview.

In addition to the strips, I’m also putting together a page detailing how I make the comic. That’ll be posted sometime in the next week.

Fear and Shopping on Planet Earth – Hit the 20% mark yesterday. 17 thou words of the first draft. Did another 800 words this morning. So, on pace, and am happy about that.

Rant Like You Mean It

So, watched Pandorum over the weekend. Not bad. Saw the ending coming half-way through though. But it was well done enough, and the ship design was pretty cool. The plot holes were forgivable. Reminded me of Pitch Black — has that same kind of low-budget earnestness about it. And bonus, no Vin Diesel.

Last night’s Chuck — not bad. Wish they’d just move past the whole Chuck/Sarah thing. No good can come of them hooking up. Shows only go down hill when that happens.

Looking forward to tonight’s Lost. Will they actually reveal the secrets of Richard, or just raise more questions? Probably both.

Looking forward to Clash of the Titans. Not expecting a good movie. And it kinda annoys me it’s all CGI. The original was Harryhausen at his peak. But still, hoping the 3-d will be decent enough for me to forget Avatar ever happened.

Archer’s over already? Damn. Good show. Last couple episodes were kinda weak, but still, overall, looking forward to season 2. And now I want to catch Frisky and Dingo, the show they did between Archer and Sealab 2021.

Arkham Polytech – Updates keep coming, three days a week.

Fear and Shopping on Planet Earth – Been getting 800 words a day in. Up to chapter 11, mostly done with it. So far, fairly happy with it.

Fever!

The weekend sucked. Had a fever. 100 on Saturday. 99 on Sunday. Down to about 98.something today. But to compensate, I’ve got the runs. But since I haven’t eaten all that much in two days, there’s not much left to run.

And now you know.

This is the Point Where I Would Normally Burn You Alive

So last night Amy took me to a showing of local Cinci artists. It was cool… and quite amusing. Especially the one artist, who stood next to his untitled painting and explained patiently to people that it squiggly lines did indeed have a title, but he would only reveal it to them after they told him their initial reaction. And then to top it off, he’d hand them his business card — a card printed with a painting of his business card. No, that’s how he described it himself. Ahh, pretension! What would I have to make fun without it? Oh, yeah, republicrats.

Been pulling back on blogging lately, mostly to have more time for writing and doing comics. None of you bastards seemed to notice. Shame on you.

Arkham Polytech – Returns to color next week.

Girl and Her Gunship – Dead in the water and abandoned, for now. Don’t know why this one’s so hard.

In the Company of Idiots – Idea needs some refinement before I leap into it.

Fear and Shopping on Planet Earth – Returned to this with a vengeance. Got 10,000 words in last year before abandoning it over the summer. Reread those ten thou last weekend, wondered why I abandoned it, and I’ve got another 3 thou words down so far.

P.S. Post title courtesy of Frank Reynolyds, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

What Do You Mean It’s March Already?

So, yeah, you should be watching Archer. It’s on FX and Hulu.

Speaking of Hulu, how’s this for a blast from the past:

It’s a very bad show that tries really hard and I loved it when it first aired.

Arkham Polytech – New strip today. Dressed to Impress.

Girl and Her Gunship – Great story. Wrong characters and setting. It’s morphing into In the Company of Idiots. More details once I nail them down.
